Bake Your Own Sodium Free Bread in 12 easy steps!

If you're like me you have high blood pressure but love bread but have to be very careful because of sodium. After looking for months trying to find a ZERO sodium bread, I decided to just try to learn to make it myself.

Follow these easy instructions to the best sodium free bread rolls!

Ingredients needed;

- 3/4 Cup luke-warm water.
- 1 tablespoon bread machine yeast.
- 1 tablespoon white sugar (replace with honey if preferred).
- (optional) 1 tablespoon Hodsons Vital Wheat Gluten (Sold at Walmart).
- 2 cups white unbleached bread flour or All Purpose Flour (make sure label says 0 sodium).
- 2 tablespoons Butter Flavored Crisco (0 sodium).

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Put 1 Tablespoon of Yeast in a large bowl.
(Use the fast rising bread machine yeast, not the overnite type).

2. Add 1 Tablespoon of sugar (and optional 1 tablespoon Vital Wheat Gluten if desired).

3. Add 3/4 Cup luke-warm water. (NOT overly warm)

4. Mix well with non-metalic utensil and let mixture stand for about 20 minutes or until foamy looking.

INSTRUCTIONS

5. Mix in 2 cups flour.

6. Mix ingredients and then knead for 10 minutes until dough is very smooth looking.
(If dough is too wet just roll in flour a bit and knead some more)

7. Lay out on counter or cutting board, roll out to about 3/4 - 1 inch thick

8.With a cookie cutter (or use the top of a cup or glass) cut a roll out.

9. Flour the bottom of the roll and place on cookie sheet.
Repeat until you use all of your dough.

10. With a sharp knife cut across the top of each roll about 1/4 inch deep.

11. Let rise for 20-40 minutes or so (depends on the temperature of the room).

12. Preheat oven to 425 degrees and bake for 7-9 minutes or until golden brown.

Heres your finished No Sodium Bread Rolls!

Optional
- add Caraway seed for Rye bread.
Notes;
- Too much dough makes bread tough. Too much water and your bread wont shape very well.

Making loaves instead of rolls

If you want to make a normal loaf of bread, follow the instructions but instead of cutting
out rolls, form your dough into a round log shape, put it into a bread pan and let it rise
for an hour or so, then bake for about 16 minutes.
